Game of Thrones House Banners

As the Dornish contingent rode towards Kings Landing, Tyrion, Bronn, and Podrick Payne stood upon their stirrups, and counted the incoming banners. Luckily, Pod had been studying heraldry, at Tyrion’s command. He could quickly identify the different houses with relative ease.
Heraldry is important to the houses of Westeros. They give insights into the kind of people that march beneath them. The proud stag with a crown of antlers for house Baratheon, the bird flying through a moongate for house Arryn, and the flayed man on an inverted cross for house Bolton. It’s almost comical how the members of those houses live up to the literal interpretation of their banners.
